I am very conflicted in regards to your article "Tips for Attracting Clients to Your Massage Therapy Practice". You mention that "qualifications don't speak for themselves," and that the therapist "must look competent in personality and skill." I completely disagree. I have had my clientele expand because of my qualifications, in fact I even had one client refer five clients because of the credentials on my walls. If anyone scheduled with me because of the way that I looked, I would greatly question their intentions. I have worked so hard and for so long to gain respect in the medical community based on my knowledge and skill, not on if I "look competent." I find that statement to be offensive to the profession as a whole especially when we've had to work so hard to overcome the stigma associated with "massage parlors."
