Near Death Experience and a Spirit Guide Reveals, “There’s Nothing Wrong with Me”
By Shirley Scott
When I had my near death out-of-body (NDE) experience back in the year 2000, I never dreamt it would change my life in so many wonderful and magical ways. This one small experience would bring with it an opening that I had never thought possible. It brought to the surface my clairvoyant skills.
When I was young, my grandmother had always told me I was the special one. Well, I loved to hear that and of course I always told my brother and sister that I was better because I was special. (Thank goodness I’ve come to know that we’re ALL special.) I now know my grandmother had seen a light in me and somehow knew I’d become what I am today; an animal communicator and clairvoyant.
Right after I got out of the hospital from this near death experience, I received a message from the spirit world. I was in my front room when an outline of a person appeared on the wall. As it developed into a full shadowy figure of a woman, I got the feeling it was some kind of a spirit coming through the wall and floating into my front room. Well, let me tell you how scared I was at that sight. Then I heard a voice in my head that said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to show you what you’re going to be able to see from now on.”
Well I didn’t know if I was afraid or just nuts. I thought there must be something wrong with me or all the medications they gave me in the hospital hadn’t left my system yet. I just stood there and stared at this wonderful Light being. But within a few minutes, I found I was again staring at a blank wall. The shadowy figure had vanished.
The next day I told myself that I had a great imagination and whatever I thought I’d seen was certainly a figment of that imagination. A few months before this I had been in Mexico on my first spiritual retreat and had experienced seeing my first aura but I hadn’t seen any spirits walk through walls. So I told myself that this wasn’t really happening. I ignored it and went on my merry way. I knew I had experienced something but I wasn’t about to tell anyone about it. I didn’t want someone thinking there was something wrong with me.
It wasn’t more than a couple of days later when I realized I knew some things before they happened or when someone was going to phone me. One day I over-heard someone talking about having an upset stomach and I knew it had been the pepperoni on the pizza they had eaten the night before. When I told the lady that, she said, “How did you know I had pizza?” That’s when I knew I had to find out what was happening to me.
I started looking around for a place to go to get help. I knew I couldn’t tell just anyone what I was experiencing, they’d laugh and maybe even lock me away in some padded cell. So I called a spiritual friend of mine and told her what was going on. She just laughed and thought it was the most wonderful thing she had ever heard. (Of course she would because it wasn’t happening to her.)
“Why don’t you see if there’s a school or something that helps new psychics understand what’s happening to them?” she asked.
“I’m not psychic!” I answered almost in a panic. I was a business woman in a company that wouldn’t take kindly to their top sales manager being psychic. I was still in the belief system that “told” me my job was my life.
“Well, you can fight it or you can do what the Universe has planned for you. The choice is yours.” Was all she said.
The more I thought about what was happening to me, the more I knew I wanted to learn about it and to see what doors it would open. That was in February and by August I was in Hawaii on my second spiritual retreat. I was with people who knew about these things and accepted them like they happened everyday to everyone. This is where I needed to be, with people that could help me and not think something was wrong with me.
The first morning on this retreat in Hawaii set the stage for the whole week. My roommate and I were sitting on the balcony of our hotel room before sunrise. We wanted to watch the sun come up in the clear Hawaiian sky to start our first full day there. As we sat in the semi-darkness, a big black butterfly came and flew around us. There was really no clear makings on the butterfly nor could we see a head or eyes, but we thought at first it was because of the darkness of the morning.
It flew around my roommates’ head and then around mine and started to fly away. We both wanted it to come back so my roommate said, “Let’s ask it to come back telepathically.”
I agreed and we both sent out thoughts asking the butterfly to come back. It turned around and flew back at us. Then it flew through the screen door, into our room and disappeared.
Let me explain; the screen door on the sliding glass patio had been closed. We had closed it when we came out to watch the sunrise because we didn’t want any bugs or lizards to get in while we were watching the sky. The butterfly flew right into it and past through it. We both looked at each other in amazement. Where had it gone? The sun was almost up now and we had plenty of light but the butterfly was nowhere. If it had hit the screen door, we would have heard it or seen it bounce off or something. We looked around and found nothing. We opened the screen door and went into the room but the butterfly was nowhere to be found.
My roommate started to laugh and said, “We’ve just witnessed a fourth dimensional butterfly. That means there’s going to be a lot of transformation for us this week.”
I went back out to the small balcony and looked into the sky. There, just to my left was the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen, but there were no clouds in the sky and it hadn’t rained. I begun to understand that this new world I was being introduced to was going to be a magical.
I learned so much that week and every where I went I had a new and different experience. When I returned to the mainland, I started reading everything I could about psychics, clairvoyants and metaphysical events. I even found a place to study and grow with other psychic people. I found out that there was nothing wrong with me. The Universe was just telling me it was my time. It was time for me, the real me to come forward and meet the real world.
The real world is living in the present moment and expecting the unexpected; knowing that anything can happen at any time. I now understand that being psychic or clairvoyant or having one of the many other gifts we all have is about as normal as it gets. I know now that reading people, animals and crossing the veil to talk to loved ones who have crossed is as natural as breathing. I know now that there’s nothing wrong with me.
So if you are starting a new path and find you are hearing, seeing and feeling things differently from others, embrace it. Talk to someone who can help explain that this is a normal event. It just means that you’ve awaken and your soul is starting to run your life, not your ego. The more of us that awaken and realize our gifts are all inside, not on the outside, and everyone has them, the faster, we as the human race, can move on to bigger and better things.
So don’t let your new skills or feelings scare you. Get support from others that have been there so you can understand what you’re going through. And never be afraid of your gifts and try to hide them. View them as wonderful and awesome. Opening up to Spirit should be a great experience and make you feel good all over. Know that everyone can do this and no one is any more special than the next human. We’re all here to help each other and grow with each other.
So smile and laugh and enjoy life. It’s really quite simple when we wake to the truth.
The truth that there’s nothing wrong with me!
