Inducing Greater Consciousness: Increase Your Potential by Expanding Your Mind Power

It has often been said that the human brain is the most complex and wondrous computer in existence. All man-made technology must defer to the superiority of this amazing organ. It is also common to hear that we utilize a very small percentage of our brain's power. I would like to suggest that exploration of this uncharted territory within our own heads is the most valuable technological advance that will happen in the next millennium. Our brain records every thought, emotion, activity and event in our life. The brain does not only contain information regarding this lifetime, but for every event from every lifetime that our soul has experienced. As we learn to access and utilize more facets of our mind, we experience less limitation and a greater sense of belonging to the world as a whole. Our personal brain becomes linked in with the Divine Brain, or with Divine Mind as our conscious awareness expands. Spiritual Masters, such as the Buddha or Jesus, have made that great leap in thought to become one with the Divine Mind.

Perhaps this also means these great Teachers are using more of the physical brain than the average person. There is an intriguing link between mysticism and science at this point. We know there is so much unaccessed portions of our brain, and we observe that every once in a while, a human makes a great leap in thinking and appears to become "superhuman". In the new millennium, this could be the destiny for all of us. Because we each have a brain full of vast unused resources, we each have the ability to be "psychic" or "intuitive". We can all reach nirvana or live in continual bliss. It is the birthright for us all to feel harmony with all life and with the Spirit behind all life. The question is, how to begin the process? One major step must be to refuse all concepts of limitation. Truly, limitations are manifestations based upon habitual thought patterns. Thought patterns can be broken. Powerful new ideas can take root in your mind.

It is important to gain the support of like-minded people, since most folks may be frightened by the changes you wish to make and may hold you back. You may even want to release some relationships that do not serve you anymore. Another step to opening your consciousness is forgiveness. Begin with yourself. You have made most of your choices and lived the majority of your life under the illusion of limited possibilities. Forgive yourself for destructive patterns of thinking and behaving. Forgive yourself for poor relationship or career choices. Also forgive the people in your life, for they live under the veil of limitation as well. Of course, this does not mean you should condone or tolerate abusive situations, yet to "unglue" yourself, forgiveness is an helpful tool for freedom and for releasing resentment. These first two suggestions are meant to "weed the garden" of your mind, for inducing consciousness to contain more awareness.

The next phase is to fertilize the soil of your brain. It is at this juncture that meditation or relaxation techniques are essential. In this way, we can bring a higher gradient of thought into our minds -- just as we mix higher quality soil to enhance a garden. Meditation may consist of sitting and chanting, or walking in the woods, or watching a flower swaying in the summer breeze, or practicing yoga. Each person must find a way in which to soothe their clamoring mind and create a bridge for more peaceful thoughts and sensations to enter in. The maintenance of our "millennial garden" is an on-going process. We must weed regularly, uprooting thoughts of negativity and limitation, and by forgiving our shortcomings along with those of others. We continue to fertilize our soil with meditation/relaxation, making sure the baby seedlings of powerful thoughts have adequate nourishment.

The final action in awakening the potential of our higher millennial consciousness in non-action. We must have patience in the process of our unfoldment. This is where we have faith and await the Grace of God, or, if you prefer, wait for our karma to begin moving in the new direction in which we have steered it. The only action that is possible now is to water the "garden" with earnest desire for growth, and sincere devotion to the process of expanding your soul.

If we can conquer fear and limitation within our own mind, we will have the most powerful piece of technology at our service, which is an enlightened brain. Spiritual Masters have known this "simple secret" for ages, and have attempted to teach it to their followers. The exciting part of the new millennium is that we are moving into a time when more people will be acting upon this empowering information, and not merely honoring those who have made the leap into expanded, unitive consciousness. When people were in awe of Jesus, he declared, "Greater works than these you shall do". He meant that each one of us holds the seeds of greatness within ourselves. The new millennium is the time when we can become Masters of our own inner machinery and work in harmony with the Divine Brain of the Cosmos.

Let be begin by saying that I am 16 years old and am always trying to learn something. I'm currently trying to learn when-or if-you can learn too much. I want to push my brain to its limits and open new doors to the brain that I haven't yet opened. I always read, maintain good grades, know three languages (and trying to learn more), am in applied computer science and other classes that require mind expansion, and am also trying to push my body to its full potential by participating in yoga, meditation, karate, and running. If you can think of anything to help me with this, please don't hesitate to tell me. Thank you.

Hi, Lauren. Wow! There's much we could recommend. What comes to mind is what I practice most days: Qigong. My favorite DVD is described here > Qigong Video. The video creators, Francesco and Daisy, are close personal friends and I spent two weeks with them studying Qigong in China last year.

Ya, I think the brain is an awesome thing. I think it's really cool that you are trying so hard to push your mind. I feel so much better about myself, for every second I expand my mind even further. Because with faith, all things are possible. I wonder just what else is out there.

I found your site by accident, but you have quite interesting thoughts. I am a Reiki Master, Shodan Jujitsu, Industrial Chemist and I teach Qigong and meditation when my busy schedule allows. I live in Australia. I have found that a particular type of sound meditation technique has helped enormously - it is made by centerpointe.com in Oregon. It uses low frequency pulses called Holosync. It takes about 10 years to complete the course, one hour per day every day for 10 years (at least). The technique results (they say) in producing neural connections in ways that are not normally possible. This results in changing the way the mind reacts to stimuli is you don't react, you act! The other thing I have discovered is a way to change the way our cells develop. It happened as a spin off from helping my wife overcome breast cancer. I won't mention any products or specifics as that would be spamming. If anyone wants to know more they can email the webmaster here and ask for my email address. I will be happy to help. So, the formula I invented has a difference to it in that it uses synergy between some antioxidants which allows the cells' mitochondria to multiply faster and become healthier and more in number. When this happens all cells have the ability to become superior to normal function, you also become faster, stronger, and better in all ways; it's so fundamental. The whole thing was unintentional and happened due to my wife's illness. She is, of course, totally healed and did not have any radio or chemotherapy. The results in other people (clients) have been amazing. All this happens because the brain's function is improved, especially the midbrain area, just above the brainstem. I also tell people to do breathing wherever possible and to do a fundamental Qigong exercise where you lead Qi from the soles up the front of the legs, cross at the groin, and up the back to the top of the head (on the in breath). Then do the reverse on the out breath down the chest, cross the groin, and down the back of the legs to the soles. Do each to the count of 4 and pause at the head and soles for 4 (that's termed the "major heavenly cycle"). It's easy and has many benefits. Good luck to everyone and the very best in health. Be good people...

Thanks for the information about ways to help expand my mind. I am in the process of trying new things. I would like to know the secret to Recipe, according to Ron's post, but I am not sure how to get a hold of him.

Higher thought begins in the conscious mind where the conscious instructs other parts of the brain to begin working on problems. The subconscious and unconscious mind must be embraced as equally valid compartments if true conscious awakening is to occur.

Beautifully stated article. I have personally always believed we humans have a much greater capacity for being "in touch." I would like to share my journaled thoughts here on creating and improving consciousness and awareness. My first question was, "What is consciousness and awareness?" My first insights into this revealed that consciousness and or awareness, the highest states one can attain, are simply another word for what we know as "metacognition" which is to observe what we are continually thinking about. In other words, thinking about our thinking. Why? Because most of humanity spends their life on automatic. So, to master our consciousness and awareness, we must learn to master our minds and grow to continually think about what we are thinking about. This is consciousness and awareness. My next question was, "How can we deliberately improve our consciousness and or awareness?" The best way I could personally think of was through a meditation technique simply called, "observing your thoughts." Using this meditation technique, begin by focused breathing until you have reached a state of relaxation. Next, you imagine yourself sitting in a chair at the bottom of a body of water, a pool, pond, lake, etc. As a single thought enters your mind, encapsulate that thought and put it in a bubble like you'd see in a cartoon strip, and watch that single thought as it arises to the top of the waster and then dissipates after it reaches the surface. Immediately, follow your next immediate thought, and repeat the technique above. I personally think this is the greatest technique we can use to strengthen our consciousness and or awareness.

I had an interesting thought today. I thought maybe everything we want is already there but we are so conditioned by our beliefs that we are unable to 'see it.' An experiment that Deepak Chopra talked about, five kittens being raised in an environment with only horizontals and five with only verticals was interesting. When they had grown into cats and were released the kittens that were raised in the horizontal world could not see any verticals and vice versa. Also the story with Columbus, the natives on the land could not see the ships, because they had never seen ships so they could not consciously conceive or be aware of them. Jesus turned water to wine, and performed miracles, he said they're is nothing in me that isn't in you all you need is belief. Maybe all we have to do to receive what we want is expand our consciousness and be able to consciously see it. In other words, believing really is seeing. Somewhere in the history of the world these powers have been taken from us by the controlling masses.
