Simply Lovely: Simple Beauty New Age Music CD by Bill Leslie

At first listen to the Simple Beauty (Capitol Broadcasting Company) album, you’re immediately struck by the compilation of sounds that weave together so beautifully and magically.

The tracks lead you to a relaxed world of peace and tranquility.

Bill Leslie does this mystically as he takes the listener’s mind out of reality and stress and into a world of peace and bliss. No wonder this was voted the 2010 Album of the Year top five finalist by Zone Music Reporter.

Leslie’s Passion for Music

Bill Leslie PictureBill Leslie’s love of music began where many other musicians get their first taste of singing and performing—where else but at church. As he sat with his family he was tapped on the shoulder, his voice praised, and given the invitation to join the church choir and belt out the holy tunes.

From that day on Leslie says,

No one could shut me up after that. I was on my way in music.

When in high school Leslie bought a Sears guitar—steel strings and all—and played and played. He’d write love songs, break up songs, any song he could think of just to play music.

A Turning Point

After a time Leslie then moved on to join a garage band. He later sang and played in a duet in college, dabbled in country music, and continued to sing in the church choir.

A major turning point in his musical career came during a trip to Scotland where he heard the mystical sounds of the Celtic whistle on the side of the road near Inverness, and as Leslie describes the experience:

I fell in love with the haunting sound.

CD Cover for Simple BeautyTrack number one, “Walking Rufus,” leads off the CD with a quicker beat, yet simply calm and peaceful. Track number four, “Lauren Marie,” opens with the distinctive sounds of the guitar as it then glides into a variety of instrumental delights all offering tranquility for the listener.

As you move on through the CD the sounds will caress your ears and delight your sense of pleasure and relaxation. Track number nine, “Way Down South,” is a calm, cool, and sublime tune to tickle your relaxation funny bone, too.

I loved the Celtic sounds woven into this peaceful, magical CD that draws out the imagination, welcomes peace and tranquility, and sets the mood for a relaxed atmosphere and good time.
