Review of Michael Brant DeMaria’s In the Flow: Music for Emotional Healing

Professionally and creatively, Michael Brant DeMaria seeks to offer people guidance towards inner peace.

With the release of his fifth new age album, DeMaria not only showcases his musical abilities, but offers listeners a beautiful soundtrack for their journeys towards inner peace.

In the Flow: Music for Emotional Healing (SoundsTrue) features soothing, tranquil, and rejuvenating music using the beautiful sounds of Native American flutes and a variety of worldly percussions.

The Benefits of Sound Healing

As a proven and effective complementary therapy, sound healing aids people in reducing stress, creating serenity and inner peace, and improving overall states of well being. Research also shows that sound healing has positive impacts as a form of natural pain management.

Music is a powerful tool to help transform emotions. Whether feelings of turmoils, depression, anger, or trauma, music helps pave the way for healing by encouraging people to release their toxic emotions and open themselves up to a restorative journey.

In the Flow: Nurturing Sound Journey

DeMaria’s fifth new age album, In the Flow: Music for Emotional Healing, features percussion, native flutes, piano, and keyboard, creating a true soundtrack for listeners’ healing journeys. DeMaria carefully selected each of the 10 tracks for the unique healing qualities each offers.

“Stillness” showcases calming, deeply meditative sounds. DeMaria offers everyone the much desired (and much required) sense of stillness with this aptly-named track. “Finding Forever,” the song that had the most impact on me, captures listeners immediately with its romantic-esque piano sounds. The flutes give this song an added dimension by portraying a sense of eternity. A slightly more rhythmic track, “Journeying,” sets in the listener a curious sense of discovery, ideal for one’s one personal journey. “Becoming Takoda” features the beautiful sounds of the flute with a gentle rhythm in the background, giving this song a mystic quality.

In the Flow Album CoverIn the Flow is designed to give listeners a nurturing ambience that allows for self-reflection and healing. This album is well-suited for peaceful background music at a dinner party, as meditation music, or to complement a reflexologist’s or massage therapist’s next healing session.
