Goal Setting: Treasure Mapping Exercise
This is a simple and entertaining exercise, even for those of us who are artistically impaired. Collect pictures from old magazines which represent your desires and goals of which you would like to achieve and attain. Paste represntations in the form of pictures, images, and words on a sheet of poster board and place it where you know you'll see it frequently. That's all there is to it. Remember you can use some text in the collage, but try not to overdo it. The subconscious mind operates mostly on images and feelings, so too much text in your collage is wasteful. An occasional caption is fine.
The sheer simplicity of this exercise can sometimes cause people to discount it's validity. This would be an error. Simple communication with the subconscious mind is the most effective. Overcomplicating the communication tends to cause it's receptivity to shut down.
This is really fun to do with a group of friends. Everyone can bring a bunch of magazines and resource material. Once your map is complete you can affirm it each day with creative visualization. Then watch the results. You may find that after a few weeks you begin to see results. After a few months, more goal setting evidence. After a year or so you may be amazed at your lifestyle changes. So give this a try. It's really a fun exercise.
Enjoy!
